Extensión de archivo es usado por AMR adaptable Muti-Tasa de archivos de audio que son creados por algunos teléfonos móviles modernos. Este formato fue desarrollado por 3 ª Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) para la codificación de voz. AMR algoritmo utiliza diferentes bitrates para codificar audio basado en su contenido para conservar espacio de memoria y ancho de banda. De compresión son los siguientes: ACELP, DVA, GNC y DTX. Bitrates pueden ir de 1,8 a 12,2 kbit por segundo.
Estas son varias aplicaciones que permiten la conversión de archivos AMR en formatos más comunes que cuentan con el apoyo de los principales reproductores de audio como Winamp o Windows Media Player. Estos programas incluyen: convertidor móvil ARM, AMR2WAV y RetroCode.
