AMR extension de fichier est utilisé par Adaptive Muti-Taux de fichiers audio qui sont créés par certains téléphones cellulaires modernes. Ce format a été développé par 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) pour le codage de parole. AMR algorithme utilise différents débits d'encodage audio basé sur son contenu afin de conserver l'espace mémoire et bande passante. Compression comprennent: ACELP, VAD, CNG et DTX. Débits peuvent varier de 1,8 à 12,2 kilobits par seconde.
Il ya plusieurs applications qui permettent la conversion des fichiers AMR en plus des formats qui sont supportés par les principaux lecteurs audio comme Winamp ou Windows Media Player. Ces programmes incluent: Mobile ARM convertisseur, AMR2WAV et RetroCode.
